Sanford “Sandy” Bates
earned his graduate degree in Exercise Physiology from George Williams College in 1986 specializing in Preventive and Rehabilitative Cardiovascular Health. He has over 30 years of experience in health and wellness working in rehabilitative settings such as physical therapy and cardiac rehabilitation and preventive settings such as health clubs, YMCA’s and corporate wellness programs.
Sandy is the President and sole owner of the United States Health Foundation, Inc. in Lakeland, Florida. Sandy has held management positions with the Florida Orthopaedic Institute, Rehab Health Partners, Performance Physical Therapy, YMCA of West Central Florida, Tampa YMCA, Lifestyle Family Fitness and the exclusive Spa at Palm Aire in Pompano Beach, Florida.
Sandy is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and is certified through ASCM as a Certified Health Fitness Specialist. Sandy is adjunct faculty at Polk State College instructing Wellness Concepts. He works closely with Polk Vision in the “Building a Healthier Polk” collaboration to help lower the obesity rate in Polk County, Florida.
Greg has been in the field of physical therapy since 1996 starting as a Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist at HealthSouth. Greg completed his Master's Degree in Exercise Science in 2001 followed by a Bachelor's Degree in business and a A.S. as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He recently earned his M.Ed in education and teaches in his local school system.
Greg wrote his first book/CEU class called “The Fundamentals of Sports and Fitness Training”. He followed with several other books, including “Function-A-Ball”, “101 Things to do with a Gait Belt”, and co-wrote the health coaching certification manual for United States Health Foundation.
Since 2000, Greg has taught over 450 CEU classes nationwide.
Dr. Kane is a licensed physical therapist, certified athletic trainer, certified sports physical therapy specialist and certified strength and conditioning specialist. She received her undergraduate athletic training degree at Mount Union College, and went on to receive her Master’s degree at University of Maryland and her doctoral degree at the University of Montana.
Dr. Kane has been practicing physical therapy and sports medicine for almost 15 years, and has extensive experience working with athletes, from children to adults, and recreational to professional. She has conducted numerous seminars for coaches, parents, and athletes, and contributes to health related publications on a regular basis.
Dr. Kane is also a cancer exercise specialist and has designed comprehensive exercise programs for cancer survivors. She is also Pilates mat and Reformer certified, and has worked with the YMCA to help further educate the wellness coaches on staff. Currently, Dr. Kane is a faculty member of the PTA program at Keiser University Lakeland. She is married to her husband Brad of 20 years and they have 2 children, Myah, 6, and Bryson, 4.
